Work permit for Highly Qualified workers: The Highly Qualified Visa is designed for professionals with advanced skills and qualifications. This visa is typically aimed at individuals who hold a university degree or have equivalent experience and are being hired for high-level positions, such as managers, specialists, or researchers. The key requirements usually include:

 

 

    • A job offer from a company in the host country.
    • Proof of qualifications, such as a degree or extensive professional experience.
    • The job position must align with the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
    • The salary offered should meet or exceed a specified threshold set by immigration authorities.

This residence permit provides a pathway to long-term residency and allows the holder’s family members to accompany them.

 

FAMILY MEMBER VISA

A visa allowing non-EU nationals to join their family members who are legally residing in Spain.

 

    • Eligibility: Spouses, children under 18, and dependent parents of a Spanish resident or citizen.
    • Requirements: The sponsor must show sufficient financial resources and suitable accommodation. Family members must have health insurance.

    • Validity: Usually matches the validity of the sponsor’s residence permit.

Residence Through Civil Partnership with a EU citizen (”pareja de hecho”)

Residence through a civil partnership allows an individual to obtain residency based on their relationship with a partner who is a EU citizen. The main points to consider are:

    • The sponsoring partner must meet certain financial requirements to support both individuals.
    • Once approved, this residence permit grants the right to live and work in Spain, often leading to permanent residency after 5 years.

Spanish Student Visa

A visa allowing non-EU nationals to join their family members who are legally residing in Spain.

 

    • Eligibility: Acceptance into a recognized Spanish educational institution.
    • Financial Requirements:Proof of sufficient financial means to support oneself during the stay.
    • Health Insurance: Must have health insurance valid in Spain.
    • Benefits: Allows the student to reside in Spain for the duration of their studies. If studding a Master’s Degree part-time work (up to 30 hours per week) is permitted.

    • Benefits: Legal residency for the entrepreneur and their family. The visa allows them to live and work in Spain while establishing the business.
    • Validity: Initially granted for 3 years, renewable.

Spanish Citizenship

Spanish citizenship grants the right to live, work, and vote in Spain and travel freely within the EU.

 

    • Eligibility:
        • By birth or descent: Children born to Spanish parents.
        • By marriage: After one year of legal residency in Spain if married to a Spanish citizen.
        • By naturalization: Typically, after ten years of legal and continuous residency. Reduced periods apply for citizens of Ibero-American countries, Portugal, Andorra, the Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, and for Sephardic Jews.

    • Benefits: Full rights as a Spanish citizen, including the ability to live and work anywhere in the EU.
